1^st prize of the public

Design proposals for the new wellness centre determine a contemporary architecture related to tradition by Japanese principles of yayoi and jomon and their goal is to bring the client to a complete contact with nature through the architecture. The study of Trentino regional landscape generates a low impact architecture: the building follows the ground natural slope and rises with a contained and non overhanging volume. The big roof lays like a leaf and evokes light and shadows relations of the surrounding wood. The constructive logic is very clear, inspired to Trentino “masi” (rural traditional buildings of the region): the base of the building is massive and clad with stone, while above the façade becomes lighter, transparent or in wood if opaque, with superposed staves shaping a ventilated and hyper-insulated façade able to answer to latest energy efficiency requirements. The architecture uses natural elements (light, matter, water) and spatial ones in a new multi-sensorial approach aiming to a holistic comfort.  The use of materials without V.O.C. emissions, natural, transparent, mainly of local origin and the exploitation of renewable energies make the building absolutely eco-sustainable. After having won the  1^st  prize in the design competition and the approval of outline and detailed proposals, the project is waiting for th license to go on with final design proposals.
